Nursery

Well...we told you we were excited to get started on the nursery. We worked on it over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend. It was Kerri's idea to do the stripe...much hard than we had thought. The fact that our walls were textured presented a bit of a problem, as the paint seeped under the tape (no matter how good we pressed it down). So, we (no, actually Kerri) ended up going back with a really tiny paint brush to touch up the lines. But, it was worth it, we are so happy with the final product. We still have some things to add, like curtains and some wall decorations, but we're on our way. We also have ordered the furniture.

It's a Boy!!

We had our second ultrasound in the middle of January and they confirmed that our little one is a boy. We were so excited before, but now, knowing what it is going to be, we are so much more excited. We can't wait to get started on the nursery and preparing for his arrival. We think he will be Tyler Allen Gibbs. Here are some pictures from the ultrasound. They couldn't get a picture of him being a boy, because he wouldn't stay still long enough. But, she assured us it was definitely a boy.

This is a 3-D version, but you can only see half of his face and a hand

Christmas 2005

We travelled back to West Virginia for Christmas. We flew into Washington, so we spent some time with friends there too. While in DC, we went to see the National and State trees on the mall downtown.

Our Trip to Hawaii

Part of Les' new job includes lots of travel. We got to take advantage of this in November, when I met Les at a job in Hawaii, and we spent a few days as tourists. We had an awesome time touring Honolulu. The sunsets were amazing, and the waves at the North Shore were unbelievable. One of the disappointing things about this trip though, was that we had our camera stolen, so we didn't get to capture too many of these moments. Here is one picture of us on the beach.

We're having a baby

Yeah...after lots of trying, we're so happy to tell everyone we are having a baby. The baby is due June 14, and things are looking good. Here are the baby's first pictures, from the ultrasound at about 7 weeks.

Welcome Max

Over the summer Les and I decided that with such a nice backyard, it was time to add to our family. So, in the middle of July, we added Max to our family. He was an 10 week old yellow lab, at the time weighing about 20 lbs. He is now about 8 1/2 months old and weighs about 85 lbs.

New House

So, as most of you know by now, Les and I moved to Texas last spring. Les is working for a company called Arcsight, and loving it. I am currently substituting in the McKinney School District, and working on my certification to teach, hopefully next year. I am doing work for general education 4-8, and considering adding Journalism 6-8 to that as well.

We bought a house in April of last year, and closed at the end of May. Here are some pictures.
