Meeting Santa

Well...don't you already know I want cars?? I though you knew everything!!

Lucas - 8 months

Lucas is now 8 months old. He continues to eat like a champ, although he is still so small...comparatively speaking, that is. Tyler was just so big that it make Lucas feel that much smaller.

One afternoon while Tyler was outside enjoying playing in the leaves, I decided to let Lucas experience them too. He was so fascinated by the leaves...he really wanted to pick them up and taste them, though.

He continues to master sitting and he loves playing in his jumperoo. He is so expressive and inquisitive...so much fun really. He is just like big brother, in that he plays hard...and then sleeps hard. I love the last picture...he simply wore himself out playing!!

Lucas is 7 Months

I really do LOVE having babies around...but Lucas is really starting to get to the fun age (although I believe that I think this about all the ages). But really...Lucas is now seven months and he is so much fun. He are some pics of his newest feats...sitting (trying at least) and food!! As you may remember from last month, he was not so impressed with the cereal. This concerned me a little, because Tyler was such a great eater and I was hoping for the same from Lucas. Well, the cereal never did do much for him...in fact, it really seemed to irritate his little belly, so following the advice of our pediatrician, we fast forwarded to veggies a month early. Wow...these have been a hit with him!! So far he has loved any food we put in his mouth. But the funniest thing is...that so has Tyler! He loves to sit close by while Lucas is eating and also enjoy a bowl of pureed peas, sweet potatoes, carrots...whatever Lucas is having. Whatever it takes to get him to eat his veggies!!

Some Fun with My Boys

Daddy captured some shots of Mommy having fun with the boys tonight and I wanted to share...enjoy! (notice Lucas' orange nose...I guess he's been eating a lot of orange veggies!!)

So, Tyler newest favorite food is Peanut Butter and Jelly. And why not, when it has Nana's awesome homemade strawberry jelly on it!! Well...he has now decided that he wants to make these himself. As you can see...still requires some supervision as sometimes the peanut butter and jelly makes it to is mouth before the bread!!

Lucas is 1/2 a year old!!

Lucas turned 6 months old and I cannot believe it!! The biggest news we have from the past month is that we have begun trying cereal. As you will see below...he was not too impressed. Let's hope his first impression can be easily swayed. :-)

So Big...

I have to say it was very hard for me to imagine these words used to describe my pint-ful of love five months ago. What - five months...really, or is this my mommy brain messing with me? Hmm...April, May, June, July, August - September. Yes, F-I-V-E Months!! I truly cannot believe it. Quick update on the little (or not so little) one:

We'll do this in a then and now format to make it more fun!

Other fun facts:

Lucas is such a mild and wonderful baby. This is nothing new - ever since his days in the NICU, when the nurses were amazed that he could sleep through the wails of the little girls who were there, he's been a calm and happy.

Like his big brother, he is a SLEEPER. This little guy can sleep like a champ. He naps twice a day (sometimes three) and rarely wakes during the night. This probably has a lot to do with how happy he always is...I imagine I'd be in a constant happy place too, if I slept as much as he does!! Save being hungry or a VERY poopy diaper, this kid doesn't complain about much of anything.

He is now rolling over in both directions and can scootch himself all over the place. If we lay him on his play mat facing something he doesn't want to look at, he simply works at scooching, until he is facing what he wants to look at...sometimes almost in a full circle.

I guess that about all the news we have for now...
